Arts Council UK Senior Leadership Team:
A half day workshop exploring what self-awareness is within the context of their business challenges, and why it is important for leadership. Small group and pairs work to identify areas of individual development. Facilitated team discussion on what this meant for the team.
Leadership Development Programme for Collegiate Student Housing:
A one-day workshop delivered in support of a wider leadership development programme. This explored what self-awareness is with the opportunity for small group and pairs work around individual levels of self-awareness. There is a focus on the interpersonal components of self-awareness, so practical (fun) exercises were used to bring the subject alive and gain valuable feedback on self-awareness levels.
An engaging keynote address highlighting “why we are not as self-aware as we think we are”; and why and how self-awareness is the route through to leading successfully in this volatile, uncertain and ever-changing world we live and work in. This can be delivered at an event as a stand-alone talk or can be delivered more informally as a “fireside” chat which will give participants the opportunity to engage in questions and discussion.
Based on my research and as the book highlights reflection and reflective practice is critical in developing self-awareness. It is hard to find and dedicate the time to this work as busy leaders. Therefore, these short 2-hour quarterly online sessions, where leaders who are peers and at the same level will come together to reflect on how they are showing up as leaders with the aim of deepening and developing self-awareness. These will be for small, formed groups of 4 or 6 leaders.
I was delighted to take part in Collegiate UK’s Transformational Lab and lead a day exploring and thinking about self-awareness and its importance in how we lead. Here’s a short video of the day.

Using the concept from Robin Shohet of a “mystery to embrace, rather than a problem to solve”, these groups will support you in the development of negative capability and the capacity to sit with uncertainty.
A group of 4-6 will meet for 2.5 hrs every 8-10 weeks for 12-18 months.
